I was sat recently, thinking about how crazy my blogging journey has been so I decided to share it with you guys.
I originally started blogging about a year and a half ago now and certainly didn’t ever expect myself to be doing something like this! I’ve always loved working on computers but never wanted to do your typical IT/computer job. I’m such a bubbly, happy and full of life person; I wanted to include that in what I do as well as working on computers.
When I started blogging, I didn’t even know blogging was a thing. I was going through a stage in my life where I really didn’t know what to do and just by chance I came across a beauty blog. Straight away I decided that was exactly what I wanted to do, so I got started.
The first blog I made was more of a mess around to see what I was able to do. I didn’t like it so didn’t return to it. After about a month, I decided I wanted to give it another go so I went back to the blog I’d made and totally re-designed it. I sat and wrote a list of all the blog post ideas I could think of and slowly started writing up the posts and posting them on my blog. After a few months, I realised people were starting to read my blog, so I decided to contact some companies asking for product samples that I could test and possibly review. I didn’t think I’d hear much back from this but to my delight, a number of companies contacted me back and said they’d love to collaborate with me. This was the kick up the bum I needed; it made me realise that I am able to be successful in the thing I really wanted to do.
As the months passed, I was slowly writing more and more posts and being contacted by more companies. As my blog was gaining more followers, I decided to re-design my blog for a second time on a more professional site where I could portray my blog as I wanted. This was a massive gamble as the audience I’d gained had now memorised my blog URL and I knew it would be a challenge to let my current audience all know about my new blog.
Fast forward to now and I’m always being contacted by different companies that would like to work with me, I often get recognised by readers in passing and have people recommending me; something I never thought would happen when I started blogging!! I recently worked with an underwear company on running a competition where I was able to give away one of their beautiful sets to one of my readers; a way in which I could give something back to all the people who have helped me get this far!
Over my journey as a blogger, I’ve not only gained exposure and an audience, I’ve also gained so much confidence and self worth! Blogging is not as easy as it looks; it can be extremely stressful and tiring but it’s also one of the best things you could do! My journey as a blogger has been a crazy ride and very overwhelming at times but it’s by far one of the best things I’ve decided to do!
Hope you enjoy guys!
